Quiche is that perfect anytime meal, infused with the bold flavours of Avohaven Salt’n’Peppa. Our crustless courgette quiche full of tender grated courgette, creamy eggs, and rich smoked Gouda come together to create a savoury dish bursting with texture and taste. Avohaven’s gourmet salt blend adds a unique twist, making this quiche a standout choice for any occasion. Serve it warm with a fresh green salad or enjoy it as a quick leftover snack—it’s a delicious way to transform simple ingredients into something magical.
Ingredients:
450 g grated courgette
½ teaspoon salt (for draining courgettes)
6 large eggs
250 ml cream (use standard or double cream)
225 g smoked Gouda cheese (or your favourite cheese)
2 tablespoons snipped fresh chives
½ teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon Avohaven Salt'n'Peppa (divided: ½ teaspoon for courgettes, ½ teaspoon for egg mixture)
2 teaspoons softened butter (for greasing the dish)
Instructions:
Preparation:
Place the grated courgette in a colander, sprinkle with ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon Avohaven Salt'n'Peppa, and mix thoroughly. Let sit for 10 minutes to draw out moisture.
Rinse the courgette under cold running water and squeeze out as much liquid as possible using clean hands or a clean tea towel.
Mix the courgette with the dried dill and chives in a medium bowl.
Preheat the oven to 180°C and set the rack to the middle position.
Grease a 23–25 cm pie dish or quiche dish with softened butter.
Assembly:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, ½ teaspoon Avohaven Salt'n'Peppa, and white pepper until frothy.
Layer ¼ of the grated cheese at the bottom of the prepared pie dish, followed by ⅓ of the courgette mixture. Repeat the layers, alternating cheese and courgette, until all are used up.
Gently pour the egg mixture over the layers.
Baking:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40–50 minutes, or until the quiche is golden brown on top and slightly soft in the centre.
Remove from the oven and allow the quiche to cool to room temperature before serving.
Serving and Storage:
Serve warm with a green salad for a complete meal. The Avohaven Salt'n'Peppa adds a bold, savoury twist! Cover leftovers with cling film and refrigerate. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
